Frequently Asked Questions

What do you mean, Yves is back? Where did it go?

Yves products were discontinued under previous ownership in 2025. Maple Leaf Foods acquired the Yves brand with a commitment to bringing these beloved products back to Canadian shelves. We know the absence was felt and we’re thrilled to be back.

When are Yves products coming back?

We’re currently targeting a late summer return to shelves. Timing may vary slightly by retailer and region. We will share an update as products begin arriving in stores.

What products are returning?

We’re excited to be bringing back some fan favourites! Look for Veggie Bologna, Veggie Ham, Veggie Turkey, Original Veggie Ground Round (in two sizes), and Mexican Veggie Ground Round.

Why are only some products returning?

We know many of you have favourite Yves products you’d love to see return. We’re listening closely to feedback as we look toward the future.

Where can I buy Yves products?

Products are expected to be available through major Canadian grocery retailers. We’ll be sharing retailer details and where-to-buy information as availability expands.

Why can’t I find Yves in my store?

We are targeting a late summer return to shelves. Products may arrive at different times depending on the retailer and region.

If you’d like to see Yves back at your local store, be sure to let your store manager know you’re on the lookout – they’ll know there’s interest when it’s time to place orders!

Will Yves be available in the United States?

Right now, our focus is on bringing select Yves products back to Canadian shelves. We don’t have any announcements regarding other markets at this time.

Are the recipes the same as before?

We’ve worked to rebuild our Yves Veggie Cuisine recipes as closely to the beloved originals as we could. In some cases, however, ingredients or spice blends used before are no longer available or we had to adapt to our plant processing operations and equipment. As a result, some products may taste or look a little different than before. We know how much these products mean to Yves fans. Your feedback helps us understand what matters most to you and where we can do better. What products do you hope to see? What was your Yves experience? Drop us a line!

Why are the nutrition facts different?

The current nutrition facts have been updated and are accurate according to Health Canada’s regulations.

In cases where the recipe wasn’t identical, nutrition facts are updated.  For example, Mexican Ground Round now has more sodium from the updated seasoning blend. Veggie Bologna now has more calories and more protein from the new protein blend.

Separately, you may notice serving sizes themselves have changed which is not necessarily a recipe change. Serving sizes are now based on Health Canada’s standard reference amounts. When comparing nutrition per 100g, most values are close to where they were labeled previously, except for the two products mentioned above.

Are these products still plant-based / vegan / vegetarian?

Yes! Yves products are now and will continue to be fully plant-based. The products launching this summer are certified vegan. Complete ingredient and nutritional information will be available on packaging.

Are Yves Products non-GMO?

Yes, the returning Yves products are all non-GMO verified.

Do Yves products contain soy?

Yes, the returning Yves products all contain soy. Complete ingredient and nutritional information will be available on packaging.

Are Yves Products gluten free?

No. Like the legacy recipes, returning Yves products are not gluten-free, as they contain wheat-based ingredients. For complete ingredient and allergen information, please refer to the product packaging.

Are Yves Products Kosher?

Yes, the returning Yves products are Certified Pareve by OK Kosher Certification. Look for the kosher certification symbol on packaging for additional details.

Are Yves products Halal?

Did Maple Leaf Foods acquire Yves?

Yes. Maple Leaf Foods acquired the Yves brand and is excited to be bringing some beloved Yves products back to Canadian shelves. Maple Leaf is committed to growing the plant-based category and is thrilled to bring back this iconic Canadian plant protein brand under Canadian leadership.

Yves is owned by a company that also makes meat products. Are Yves products still vegan?

Yes. Yves products are, and will remain, 100% plant-based, and the products launching this summer are certified vegan. We understand that consumers make purchasing decisions for many different reasons, and we’re excited to bring these favourites back to Canadians who have been asking for them.
